Chicken anyone?

Sorry about the delay in posts.  Recovering from pancreatitis has taken a lot of my time, but I hope to get back to regular posting now that I’m back in the swing of things.

This specimen is from the grill of my brother-in-law Charles.  Now, who’s hungry?

Pond in Showlow

This small pond is a short walk from my in-law’s cabin in Showlow.  I love the reflection of the trees and sky in the water.  Good stuff.

Caribbean Lighthouse

Clarinda snapped this picture of a lighthouse on Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.

Stoned

These stones are around my brother-in-law’s pool, and I thought they’d make a good background picture.  Turned out pretty good.

Sundown in El Mirage

Is it just me, or does that title sound like a Clint Eastwood movie?  Anyway, I took this picture from my brother-in-law’s backyard in El Mirage, AZ.  I love the darker contrasts due to the light from the sun.  Seems ominous.

Flag of the Bahamas

I took this one right before storm hit the private island, which is why you see the dark clouds behind it.  The nice part about that though is the flag is definitely waving in the wind.

Sunset at Victory Baptist

Last summer we did a major landscape remodel of the front of the church.  While at one of the evening work days, I took this picture of the front of the church.  I really like the cloud background, with an oncoming monsoon.

Chocolate Sculptures

One evening on the cruise, they had a chocolate buffet.  These sculptures were the decorations.  As you can see in the bottom two pictures, these all had placards on them that said “DO NOT TOUCH” in one way or another.

So we had a lighthouse,

a ship,

and a knight.  And no, we never got to eat any of them.

Happy Birthday Dawson

It’s Dawson’s birthday, so here’s one of my favorite shots of him.   Here he’s getting ready to ride a horse with is cousin Briana.  And, as typical of a boy his age, he’s wondering when we can just get started.  And yes, that is Clarinda’s pregnant belly behind him, keeping him in the shade.

More Flowers

This is probably my favorite picture I’ve been able to take of flowers.  These are from my mother-in-law’s garden (like most of my flower pictures).  I have no idea what kind of flowers they are (hey, I’m male, cut me some slack), but I really like how they pop against the darker background (I actually took this shot in the middle of the day and have no idea how I get the dark background).
